A final zoom over KLCC

This is just amazing. Google is actually providing such service free (at least for the time being). You can have a look over any part of the world with such clarity and detail. I was surprise to see they actually have high resolution over Malaysia. I also tried areas such as Kuching, KK they are all covered.
I am in this satellite image business but with this free images, whatelse can I sell?

Papa Biggg Noseeee
When I woke up this morninig, I saw my second son sleeping beside me. This two years old boy is such a character. He brings us joy when we least expect it. At 4:00 am this morning, he called out loud and wanted to drink milk. This is his norm. But the difference was that he had all his valuable belongings, pillows and bolsters, tightly hugged in his hands, and asked to be carried to my bed. After he finished his milk, he seemed like totally awake. He started chating with me in the language only closed ones understand. He touched my nose and said " Pa pa biggg noseee". Then he pointed at my wife and said " ma ma biggg noseee". The next moment, he started to repeat the experience he had at the aquarium three days ago about the fish he saw:"pa pa, phish ball ball" and shake his head at the same time. He was trying to tell me the fish looks like a ball and the way the fish swims is by shaking the head. Then he started to point to the ceiling and said:" zard, scared scared." Ok, that was the lizard he is afraid of. That chat lasted for quite a while until both of us fell asleep again.
Being a pa pa can be quite taxing too. On the same night, my elder son (8 years old), cried and complained about the pain on his tongue caused by ulcer. We tended to ignore his complaints as nothing much we can do to stop the pain except to apply some gel on the ulcer. He is normally a strong boy. He hardly shed a drop of tear when he went to the dentist to extract his teeth. But last night, he was in constant pain. Sensing that none of the medicine helped, and only one thing to try. I carried him upstairs to the room, changed him into pyjamas, and put him to bed. All these extra things that we normally do to the younger one, worked extremely well with him. He calmed down and tried to sleep. He even turned his buttock towards me,signalling me to pat him to sleep like I always do to the two-year-old. In no time, he fell asleep. This only reminds me that however fast your children grow up, there are always some moments thay want extra attention and love to help them go through tough times. That extra attention and love is much more effective in soothing sores and pains, both physical and mental ones.

Software Licensing
There is a funny phenomena about buying original software in Malaysia. All the AutoCAD in my company are bought original and through legitimate supplier. All of a sudden, I receive a fax asking us to fill in information of all our Autocad licenses so thet they can issue something call "License Verification Certificate" to us to show that ours are original.
Why do you have to "verify" if mine are original? Isn't the original CD good enough proof? On the other note, does it mean that if I do not have the so called "License Verification Certificate", then all our licenses are deemed "pirated"?
Compliance is one thing but making us waste all the productive time into searching for information is another. Don't the authorized dealers keep their databases of the original licenses? We have been requesting "authorization codes" from them whenever we install the software. They should have better knowledge than us.
This is a waste of time.

My Dear Matrix
I have finally got a chance to own a non-malaysian car. Well, technically, it isn't truely non-malaysian as it is made by INOKOM. It isn't a luxury car to brag about but the very fact that I am not driving a Proton give me the thrill. Enough is enough, Proton, I am dumping you.
After driving it for 3 weeks, all I can say is that the Korean car makers are serious bunch of people. I am no technical expert to comment on the technology but the quality of the dashboard, the many small compartments in the car, and the tight fittings of all the panels shows that they are sincere in making the car. The Matrix 1.6A has less power, softer in handling, higher priced (at least in Malaysia) than Proton Waja. But Matrix gives me the true joy of owning a new car, something my last two Protons could never provide. I enjoy the quietness of the engine, the smoothness of the transmission, the worry-free sensation of driving a new car.
Proton CEO mentioned sometimes before in the press that Proton's technology is more advanced that the Koreans. I am not challenging that statement as I am sure he is well-supporting his statement. But Proton, like many Malaysians, lack the personal touch in things that they do. They spend so much in the R & D to come out with a car that is technologically more advanced, and little do they know that by using low quality door handle that will break down in the first three months of car ownership, is totally murdering the joy of driving the car. Having to replace the power window system at RM490 three time in the first three years is fast dampening the owner interest to experience the next "more advanced" models.
Malaysians are forgiving lots. They can wait 20 years for you to prove to them that "Malaysia Boleh". But after 20 long years, their patience is running thin. They just cannot accept the fact that Proton is still producing cars that need to be sent to service centers for warranty claim every so often, and worst of all, on the same parts. This is not about technology anymore, this is plain sense of responsibility, or the totally lack of it. If losing a market share of 60 over % to 30 over % is a not-strong-enough signal, I don't know what is!

My first posting
Why do I need a blog? I really don't know. I will find a good use of it eventually. Treat it a place for friends to stay in touch. Don't take it too seriously.
